Word Of The Year 2020
Are you seeing 2020 vision yet?! Not only is it a new year but a new decade! 2020 just seems so cool! I love the fresh start of a new year and this one just seems really special to me. I can feel it in my bones. I’m not talking about a year that will be hitting glass ceilings but a year full of intention.
It looks like there’s a trend now of picking out a word for the year, but truth is, I’ve done this for a long time and some years not really a word but a theme. However, to some, that may feel a little intimidating or too much pressure. So I would love to just take a few minutes to encourage you today about being intentional in all areas of your life. If that still seems like too much, just start somewhere, with one area, and really think how a little intention can help in that area. To me, it’s all about doing the small things well AND that takes practice, at least for me it does!
So, if I had to choose a word then I would choose “intention,” I mean that’s the whole idea behind my brand. I’m by no means an expert on it either, but it’s a place that I feel is SO SUPER important with just everyday life. It’s a place where I want to grow in, learn and become a better person of intention. Being intentional really requirers some effort, some planning and something to aim at, plus a little extra time doing the small everyday things. I’m a very thoughtful person, meaning I take a lot of consideration of the thought process behind the action. I do things with intention, means I do things with putting a thought process behind it. So I encourage you, if you want to join me in living with more intention, take the first step of the thought process. Then, I find it very helpful in planning to journal ideas down of a few action steps. Then it’s all about the little daily practices, day in and day out. Yet, if some days I feel like I didn’t take the extra time in the small daily practices, I just start fresh with tomorrow. Even though we have new years, we really get a fresh new start EVERY SINGLE day and to me that brings me great joy to live with intention!
